The LISTA South Florida Chapter (Latinos in Science and Technology Association) hosted its first Technology Trends Breakfast yesterday at the Jobing.com Miami Office. With over 60 participants and more than 100 connected online, the meeting provided a perfect venue for local technology professionals, CIOs and local businesses to network, learn about the employment trends at the local level and of course, participate in LISTA's local initiatives.

Among the keynote speakers, Diana Montenegro, V.P. of Human Resources for Terremark Worldwide provided a glimpse at the expansion of the NAP (Network Access Point) right here in Miami; Manny Ruiz, Hispanic PR Wire, President and Founder expanded on the power of online media and communications and the growth of the Hispanic market; Juan Ulloa, Microsoft representative provided a quick training session on Windows Vista; and Luis Pineda Salido, president of Ausbanc (publisher of Mercado de Dinero USA) addressed participants on the changing economy and power of the Spanish-speaking market.

The interest in the technology industry is evident, and the plans to continue building and supporting local initiatives is at the heart of LISTA.
