On Monday, August 25, 2008, we received our 750 th application for Police Officer (Basic Recruit)!!! Do not fret. If you were unable to submit your application during this recruitment , take steps now to get ready for the next recruitment, which we anticipate will begin in early 2009. As a courtesy, our Employment Office staff will complete a notification card that will be mailed to you once the new recruitment begins, which will serve as a reminder for you to apply. To request a notification card for Police Officer (Basic Recruit) send an email to notifycard@miamigov.com or call 305-416-2050.

As a suggestion, for the next Police Officer recruitment, submit your application as early as possible once the recruitment begins. Due to the high level of interest in this position you want to make sure that you do not miss a great career opportunity because you did not turn your application in before the application threshold is reached.

Be mindful, that there are several documents that you will need to submit when you apply. Prepare to submit the following documents:

Proof of passing FBAT (Florida Basic Abilities Test) or CJBAT scores

Proof of citizenship and age – US Passport; Birth Certificate; or US Certificate of Naturalization
Proof of education – High School Diploma, GED or higher
Valid Drivers License
Veteran’s Form DD-214 (if applicable)
