In our ever changing atmosphere employers often need to solve employment issues in innovative and resourceful ways. In response to you, our members, The Human Resource Association of Broward County (HRABC) presents our annual Human Resource Conference and Exhibition. This year’s theme, "Leading the Way" is scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2008 from 7:30am – 4:30pm at the Broward County Convention Center .

Keynote speakers are the well noted author of "FISH", Dr. Stephen Lundin and Dr. Joseph Michelli, "The Starbucks Experience". The conference is designed to provide a high level forum for business executives, human resource professionals, service providers, and the media.

Chapter President, Roma Rowland, PHR, said "offering professional development through monthly workshops and an annual conference is critical for HR executives’ continuing education and national certification."

The day will be filled with nationally known speakers and experts in the field of human resource management and business strategy. Kia-Lee Bussey, SPHR, and Director Workforce Development Committee states that "the subject of workforce development remains a high priority, particularly from a strategic perspective." "This 2008 initiative," according to Bussey, "follows a well-attended conference presented by HRABC in 2007."

HRABC’s goals are to educate attendees, create post-conference change, provide networking opportunities, and discover innovative ways to address issues such as the changing Florida workforce, work ethic and work life balance issues, challenges of increased cost of living and the impact of diversity and cultural differences facing South Florida employers.

In addition to the keynote speakers, top HR professionals will conduct three concurrent breakout sessions. Topics will include: General Business, Strategic HR, Diversity, Legal and Workforce Development
