Blog Post: Finding a "Health"y Job in Today's Crazy Economy
posted Thursday, October 23, 2008 6:35 PM
I hear the question everyday, "In today's fluctuating and crazy economic times, what are some of the secure careers to pursue?" I've been in the recruiting business for 10 years, and I've seen many different companies and industries come and go. One month, the business will be exceptional, while the next, the companies are all downsizing. The most consistent industry in which I have seen growth and my best recommendation would be to be involved in the healthcare industry - especially in Florida. Even more specifically, our company has seen a very high demand for Allied Health and Rehabilitation professionals. Some of the Rehabilitation positions that are currently experiencing a very high level of growth are Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, and Speech Language Pathologists. Schools that offer degrees in each of these programs are located all throughout the state and even more schools are adding these programs every year. Florida is a great market as well due to the aging population. Florida remains a great market for retirees and therefore, healthcare professionals remain in very high demand. If you are currently in the healthcare industry or looking for more information about getting into this growing field, please feel free to contact me at tgarman@infixxmanagement.com.
