CITIZENSHIP DRIVE

CASA welcomes the community to the next Citizenship Drive on Saturday November 22nd from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The price is 40 dollars with the picture. This Citizenship Drive will be held at CASA's main office located at 7925 NW 12 Street Suite 414 Doral, Fl 33126. Schedule an appointment and ask for the requiriments at  305-463-7468 Ext 101 with Diego Giraldo, intake coordinator. 

COORDINATED VICTIMS ASSISTANCE CENTER (CVAC)

Miami-Dade County Department of Human Services opened on October 30th, 2008 a Coordinated Victims Asistance Center   which is a walk-in center for all domestic violence and sexual abuse victims and their children. In order to make it easier for the sufferers to get the help that they need, many agencies provide service at the Center. CASA is one of the few organizations priviledged to participate in this useful project.

Some of the services available at the Center are: filing criminal cases, information about Legal Programs and Procedures, injuction assistance services, children individual and group counseling,  completion of Family Court Self Help Package, domestic violence & family legal representation, parenting educational groups, etc.  

CASA will be at the Center Mondays and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to  6 p.m.  For more information, please call 305-285-5900 or 305-463-7468 Ext 101.

CASA'S VOLUNTEER TEAM FOR THE INCOME TAX PROGRAM

For many years, CASA has been ofering an excelent service in its Income Tax Return Program in which thousands of low income families have been able to get their refunds back at not cost. If you are interested to participate as a volunteer in this Program and improve your knowledge, CASA invites you to take the free of charge Income Tax Preparation Course that IRS is offering on December 8, 9, 15 and 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the City of Miami . This course will be held in English.

Each volunteer registered must provide 40 hours of tax preparation services to CASA during the tax season which begins in January and finish around April 15th, 2009.  For more information, please call Diana Del Pino at 305-463-7468 Ext 104.

FREE HELP WITH TAX PROBLEMS

The legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc and the Put Something Back Project have a special office where people that have problems with the IRS can get an orientation free on charge. This Community Tax Clinic is located at 3000 Biscayne Boulevard Suite 500 Miami , Fl 33137. The services is available walk-in Mondays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information, call 305-576-0080
