Blog Post: Tis The Season of Giving and Learning

Any real attention to our regular daily news headlines might be enough to make anyone consider whether this time of the year really is still a time of giving. With so much being taken away from so many these days we could all wonder.

I feel especially grateful to have had an opportunity to share in a new experience for me. Through my involvement with the Florida Staffing Association (FSA) and the enthusiastic approval of the Executive Management Team of my company, MGT Intel Group, Inc. a toy drive benefiting the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County was held yesterday evening, Wednesday December 10, 2008. The event was hosted by Jobing.com at their Fort Lauderdale offices and provided a real beacon of light for all who attended. During times like these when there is so much negativity and real personal concerns, coming together to help and support others might be just what the doctor might order.

In all, 11 companies were represented and many toys were donated and collected as a fee to join the event. There was great food, fun and learning. Jessica Garvar, Community Relations Manager for Jobing.com was the presenter for the evening and demonstrated her knowledge and enthusiasm for maximizing the use of the world wide web for business purposes as well as general social networking. Blogging and how you can use it to benefit you and your business was the topic of the night.
