Blog Post: Networking...it works! For business, for job opportunities, getting involved in the community, friendship, and more!

I have been networking for a long time! The best advice that I can give you is to get out and network, especially if you are looking for a job. Any networking you do is better than sitting at home starring at your computer and hoping for a job to come to you...it won't be that easy.  You need to make an effort.  I know that it may be something new for you to try or you might be nervous, but just do it.  You never know who you will meet.

The Hollywood Junior Chamber, Jaycees, is a great organization to get involved with.  I am the 2009 President and when I first joined the Jaycees, I did not know anyone!  I met two people who invited me to come to an event, which happened to be a Halloween haunted house.  I showed up and they asked me if I would like to volunteer...I said yes, ended up be a floating head in the haunted house!!!  It was fun!  I met a lot of people that night, I helped raise money for charity, and joined a great community/leadership service organization, and ten years later, I am still a part of it and have many great memories that I can share. This Tuesday, you can take your first step to get involved in your future!
