Blog Post: Realtors everywhere rejoice!

I was thrilled to hear from my girlfriend, who is a Realtor, that she felt the market was picking up. This time of year has been historically slow for real estate transactions in Florida. With the weather heating up during South Florida's notorious rainy season, and the fear of potential storms, many buyers wait out the summer. This year however, with low interest rates, tax incentives and down payment assistance for first time home buyers, and home prices at their lowest in years, home sales have been on the rise. According to the Florida Association of Realtors, existing home sales were up 18% in April 2009 compared to April 2008, and that is good news for the industry as a whole. While no one can predict with any accuracy when we may start to see home values rise again, it is a good sign indeed to see some of the available inventory being scooped up. Realtors everywhere rejoice!
