Blog Post: Blogs...Why Comment Back?

posted Wednesday, March 12, 2008 7:05 PM

Blogs are a great way to build a relationship and engage in conversation with people on the internet.  I like to think of blogs as a daily journal or a published instant message.  If we think about it like that then there needs to be more than one person sharing information.  What I mean is when you read someone's blog, comment back.  Have a conversation with them.  If you agree with what they have shared tell them about it.  If you can relate to it share your personal experience.  A great blog tells a great story and engages in great conversation.  So...with that said...what do you think about what I have just shared?

WOW, Blogs and test messaging the downfall of society??? I thought that was communism? LOL I think just the opposite blogging is about giving, it is about having an opinion and a place to say it... Just like yours which I do not agree with, but that is what is great, we can disagree.

Interpersonal communication skills....hmmm I think it has more to do with personality, but would have to agree we all need those skills and to get better at them, along with just being more civil to each other. But to blame blogging and text messaging on that is just wrong.

I think there may be generational issues, and fear of this new media, but it is here to stay. I wish you the best and keep blogging! That is what is great. We have a place to discuss why blogging is....or is not the downfall of society as we know it....I personally think Free Agency is....oh wait that was baseball not society.

Thank you all for your comments. PR, I appreciate your thoughts and opinions and this is exactly how blogging and this new way of online social networking and communications can be utilized. The evolution of the internet and social networking is happening all around us at an unprecedented rate and it is not going away; rather it is getting bigger and more powerful each and every day. What if instead of looking at this as the downfall of future generations we look at it as a tool to increasing the accessibility of gaining knowledge for these future generations? With that said, this can only be the beginning and I agree that the ability to communicate face-to-face will always be extremely important. I believe that our society belongs to all of us, so we all share the responsibility of educating our youth and our communities as a whole how to effectively use this technology in correlation with building our younger generation's interpersonal communications.

Thank you again for your thoughts and I would love to continue this discussion if you will like so please feel free to email me personally or join us for one of our informational blogging sessions at our Fort Lauderdale office. Our next session will be the 27th at 7:30am. I hope to see you then for a Bagel N' Blog! Take Care!
