Department Mission Statement The Housekeeping Department is responsible for the cleanliness of the hotel, from guest rooms to bath-rooms, lobby, library and towers. The housekeeper never rests always expertly polishing, vacuuming, folding, bed making...and always with a smile and friendly hello to our guests. Job Purpose Responsible for assigning room attendant's to their daily duties. Supervise and train room attendants in the cleaning of guest rooms. Attend to special needs of guests. Ensure that Room Attendants and Turndown Attendants duties are completed and all guest's needs are met in timely fashion. This is a part-time position for the PM shift only. Minimum Requirements • Minimum two years supervisory experience in housekeeping in a luxury hotel environment. • Excellent communication skills both written and oral. • Ability to lift up to 25lb. • Ability to bend and stretch frequently and to stand for long durations. • Must have developed language skills to be able to read and understand instructions, including safety rules. Job Responsibilities • Ensure that the guest rooms and public areas are kept in an immaculate condition at all times. • Daily communication with housekeeping employees and guests by phone, computer, and pager. • Complete morning and evening reports and prepare assignments of room attendants, housekeeping attendants and other housekeeping employees. • Oversee housekeeping, laundry and uniform rooms during evening hours. • Ensure that all housekeeping areas are locked and shut down on completion of the evening shift and that all areas are organized. Ensure all keys and pagers are returned to Security in accordance with hotel policy. • Assist with turndown and cleaning of rooms as needed to ensure guest satisfaction and hotel standards are maintained. • Ensure that par supplies of linens and amenities are in each pantry and linen storerooms for proper operation. • Recruit and train housekeeping employees in accordance with hotel policy. • Review the performance of employees regularly and in accordance with hotel policy. • Assist with the periodic inventories of uniforms, lines and supplies. • In addition, other duties may be required as directed by your Manager.
