Job: Laboratory Assistant I-Per Diem

Job Summary:
The Laboratory Assistant is proficient at 98% of venipuncture attempts. Assures that specimen collected is appropriate to test required (collect tube, amount of blood). Follows protocol for patient identification and specimen labeling at all times. The ideal candidate will demonstrate consistent ability to perform venipunctures on infants, children as well as adults. Performs all collections in a timely manner. Demonstrates knowledge of proper utilization of various types of equipment (syringe, butterflies, lancets, vacutainers and blood culture equipment).

This is a Per Diem position on the various shifts without benefits.

High School diploma required.

Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy program and/or a minimum of one (1) year phlebotomy experience in an acute care hospital.

Excellent customer service and organizational skills is required.
