Job: Accountant - General Accounting

General accounting including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, and preparing account and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting management in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform account/bank reconciliations

Review invoices and check requests

Process check requests

Prepare and process accounts payable checks, wire transfers and ACH payments

Resolve invoice discrepancies

Maintain vendor files

Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures

Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses

Degree in Accounting/CPA preferred

3 to 5 years relevant experience, preferably with a not for profit organization

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

Strong financial and business acumen skills

Knowledge and experience of accounts payable

Knowledge and experience related to computer applications

Attention to detail and accuracy

Good communication skills

Confidentiality and problem analysis and problem-solving skills
