Schedule: Full time Shift: Day Shift Hours: 8:00-5:00 Salary: - Masters Degree Required TITLE: Director of Quality Management POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the provision of department services to provide high quality, appropriate, safe, cost-effective service. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education and/or Experience:& Masters Degree in Healthcare related field required 3-5 years experience in Hospital Quality required Management experience in quality related programs highly preferred National certification in Healthcare Quality preferred (CPHQ) Licensure/Regulation/Certification: Licensure/registration in area of specialty, if applicable Certification in area of specialty, if applicable POPULATION SERVED: (Check all age groups that will receive care and/or service from this employee) & Neonatal& & Pediatric& & Adolescent& & Adult& & Geriatric& &X& Other skills not related to patient care POSITION EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Application Skills - The effectiveness with which the employee applies job knowledge and skill to job assignments (job knowledge, analyzes problems, employs tools of the job, follows procedures, tracking, systems upkeep) Expected to be able to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Expected to have high mathematical skills. Expected to be proficient with Microsoft Office and any other programs related to the type of work in the department. Expected to have organizational and time management skills. Expected to have leadership and problem solving abilities. 2. Quality of Work - The manner in which the employee completes job assignments (accuracy or precision, thoroughness/neatness, reliability, follow-through/follow-up, judgment/decision making) Leadership Expected to provide leadership and guidance in the development, implementation, and evaluation of services in the department. Expected to provide overall planning, control, organization, and monitoring of services and the employees within these areas. Expected to plan, organize and direct the provision of services within the assigned department(s) to assure compliance with the organization's policies and procedures as well as The Joint Commission and appropriate regulatory agencies. Expected to develop short-term and long-term goals and objectives for areas of responsibilities in accordance with those of the hospital and interpret these to the staff. Expected to comply with and support all department policies, procedures, projects and activities to ensure the effective utilization of department resources and the ongoing success of department operations. Expected to direct process of interviewing, hiring and assuring evaluation and competency of all personnel for areas of responsibility. Expected to engender enthusiasm, intellectual excitement, and an empowered professional staff. Expected to demonstrate efficient organizational and time management skills through consistent patterns of work behavior and positive representation. Performance Improvement Expected to be responsible for operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the cost-effectiveness and efficient delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the department. Expected to develop and implement a plan for an effective, interdisciplinary and ongoing program for quality assessment and performance improvement in the areas of responsibility. Expected to pursue, in a creative manner, continuous quality improvements, which increase customer satisfaction and organizational financial performance. Expected to adapt procedures and utilize available resources to maintain quality services and to meet changing requirements. Expected to follow all facility, organization and department precautions and procedures in the performance of all job duties to ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Performance Improvement Expected to be responsible for operational excellence of all assigned activities to ensure the cost-effectiveness and efficient delivery of quality services and/or outcomes required to meet the expectations of those utilizing or impacted by the department. Expected to develop and implement a plan for an effective, interdisciplinary and ongoing program for quality assessment and performance improvement in the areas of responsibility.
