Position Summary:

Responsible for the safe, accurate and economical use of drugs in patients through the application of specialized clinical skills, knowledge and functions resulting in positive patient outcomes.

Position Expectations and Responsibilities:
Expected to have high mathematical skills. Expected to be able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Expected to be able to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Expected to demonstrate knowledge of drug information sources. Expected to have a thorough knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques involved in the practice of pharmacy as defined in the Practice of the Profession of Pharmacy in compliance with federal and state statutes. Expected to be responsible for the safe, accurate and economical use of drugs in patients through the application of specialized clinical skills, knowledge and functions resulting in positive patient outcomes. Expected to be responsible for performing medication distributive functions in accordance with federal and state laws, The Joint Commission standards, and hospital/departmental policies and procedures. Expected to assume responsibility for professional growth and accountability. Expected to communicate in a respectful manner with all levels of managment, peers, and customers. Expected to be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Expected to engage in collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues. Expected to serve as an educational resource for healthcare professionals, students, patients and the community.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:
Graduate of an AACP accredited school of pharmacy
AND
Bachelor's of Science (BS) in Pharmacy
AND
Experience in an Oncology setting

Licensure/Regulation/Certification:
Florida pharmacy license Must complete mandatory CE requirements within the required timeframe


*Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites.

*The person in this position may be asked to work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.
