Job: Pediatric Dentist

Must be able to travel to all Seminole Tribe of Florida Reservations. This position serves, Hollywood, Big Cypress, Immokalee and Brighton.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Be on time for work.
2. Performing comprehensive dental exams which shall include:
a. Radiographs ( Intra/Extra oral)
b. Review health history at every visit
c. Periodontal screening exam with Periodontal Diagnosis(if deemed necessary
according to child age)
d. Clinical exam of all soft and hard tissues in the oral cavity
e. Oral cancer screening
f. TMJ screening
g. Ortho screening
h. Study models, if deemed necessary
3. All clinical and radiographic findings will be charted on a treatment plan form.
4. Comprehensive treatment plan will be formulated for every patient.
5. Treatment plan will be discussed with the parents of patients under the age of 18 prior
to starting dental work.
6. Will work with an assistant on a daily basis to perform dental procedures.
7. Will adhere to universal precautions at all times.
8. Will complete progress report for every procedure performed.
9. Consult with other Specialists when necessary.
10. Will maintain all requirements for Dental Licensure to be current (C.E. requirements,
BLS certification, etc.).
11. Maintain strict patient confidentiality.
12. Abide by the Seminole Tribe of Florida Health Department policies.
13. Perform other duties as assigned within the parameters of your certification,
licensure, and Federal Laws.
14. Will travel to other STOF reservation clinics as deemed necessary by Dental program
manager under the guidance of the health Director
15. This position is considered as an essential position in the Health Department. Those
employees designated as essential will be required to report to duty as requested
before, during and after declared emergencies. Although the Department is sensitive
to personal needs, the Department will provide advance notice regarding reporting
requirements.

Qualifications:

• Active, current licensure as a D.M.D. / D.D.S. in the State of Florida and a minimum of four years of private practice experience.
• Masters degree or equivalent certificate from an ADA accredited Pediatric dental program, Boarded certified, or eligible for board certification
• A valid Florida Driver’s License in good standing or equivalent drivers license until FL license is obtained
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS or PALS certification.
