Job: Medical Externship Coordinator

Florida Career College is a private college founded in 1982 with eight campus locations: 5 in southern Florida, 2 in the Tampa area and 1 in Jacksonville, FL. We have a Medical Externship Coordinator position available in our Career Services Department for our Hialeah campus. Works under the supervision of the Director of Career Services

SUMMARY
Responsible for coordinating all aspects associated with the attainment and management of the externship site for all student’s in the Medical Assistant Technician/Medical Office Administration programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Overall duties include:
· Works with the Department Supervisor at the affiliate site in a cooperative effort to provide smooth and effective externship training for students
· Procures and manages all externship sites for the program
· Maintains a record of affiliation agreements for every active externship site
· Performs structured externship orientations for all students entering externship
· Submits a weekly report detailing externship attendance records for each student
· Maintains weekly communication with externship site supervisors

· Good communication skills and detail oriented
· Ability to interpret and explain externship policies
· Computer skills - software & keyboarding required
· Ability to handle multiple tasks
· Customer service skills
· Ability to display a positive professional attitude to students, staff, sites and faculty
· Ability to focus on tasks and develop effective time management plans in order to complete assignments

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to work in a busy environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate of a program in the medical field, baccalaureate degree or extensive work experience in the Medical field required.
Minimum of two years of experience in medical field desirable
Previous sales experience a plus
Local candidates preferred.
Knowledge of local medical market a plus

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be bilingual (speak fluent English and Spanish).
