Job Description
SUMMARY: Provide coaching and administrative support to a cohort of approx 250-350 online students to realize their educational goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Coordinate a student's transition from enrollment through the registration and welcome contact processes and facilitate their entry into classes;
* Establish and maintain a mentor/coaching relationship with students;
* Coach students to a level of academic self-sufficiency as their degree program progresses by utilizing a pre-determined catalog of courses;
* Adhere to contact rate, registration rate, and other metrics;
* Monitor high rates of student matriculation, graduation, and overall retention;
* Utilize technology (email/phone) to proactively communicate with students about academic progress;
* Monitor student academic success including, but not limited to: GPA, SAP, Graduation Progress, Student Honors, Attendance and communicate accordingly;
* Provide comprehensive and thorough student advocacy to resolve issues that affect student progress and satisfaction and escalate to the proper level as required;
* Provide consistently high levels of service to any and all Kaplan students, regardless of whether they are members of your assigned cohort;
* Serve as liaison between the student and FA, PLAC, Instructor,Tech Support and other department as necessary;
* Provide timely and accurate execution of assigned administrative and other duties;
* Communicate effectively and frequently with management about successes, issues, barriers, and other matters;

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. The position requires candidates to have a flexible schedule and expect some evening and weekend work, based on the needs of the business. Reasonable accommodations will be made where possible to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

* EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

 Associates degree required.
 BS/BA preferred and/or strong familiarity with college/student experience, previous Customer Service experience a plus;
 The position requires proficiency with computers and an ability to learn fundamental workings of content management systems and web applications. Daily work also requires extensive use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook;
 Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
 Ability to follow established processes, work effectively on a team, and maintain a positive attitude;
 Proven ability to perform to established quantitative and qualitative metrics and outcomes;
 Candidates with previous Academic Advising experience and/or extensive non-academic customer service experience are encouraged to apply;

MEASUREMENT OF SUCCESS:
Academic Advisors will be evaluated based on (a) their ability to meet the requirements of their position (b) ability to achieve the established quantitative and qualitative metrics for their position (c) ability to learn and adhere to required and updated processes, and follow them productively; (d) ability to work effectively on a team, both within and across Kaplan University departments; and (e) attitude and enthusiasm.
