The Horse Racing Coordinator is responsible for running the race office and handling all matters related to racing, while maintaining the standards of the “See, Say, Smile” program.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receive and file eligibility certificates of horses competing at the track or stabled on the grounds.

Knowledge of age, class and competitive ability of all horses racing at the track.

Publish all overnight and qualifying sheets, work with SDRO in establishing purse structure,

Classify and re-classify horses after racing in accordance with the rules while taking declarations via telephone. Must be able to verify the information on the declarations

Must assist with establishing purse structures, manage of purse account, and manage the stake account.

Provide MIS with data for the web page and promote the property within the industry.

Ensure the safety and security of employees and guests.

Skills / Requirements

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding financial data and racing related investigations.

Oral and written communication skills done in a timely manner.

Providing accurate classifications and eligibility of horses.

Knowledge of USTA rules and regulations.

Willingness to work flexible hours and handle high pressure situations in an interruptive environment.
