Project Manager III- (Six Sigma & MIS) Fort Lauderdale, $75,000 to $85,000/year ChildNet's mission is to protect Broward County's abused, neglected and abandoned children, to assure their safety and to promptly provide them with a permanent, loving home. ChildNet is a private, not for profit organization created specifically to manage the child protection system in Broward County as part of a statewide program to transfer the responsibility for child protection, foster care, adoptions and related services to community based organizations. ChildNet's mission is to protect Broward County's abused, neglected and abandoned children, to assure their safety and to promptly provide them with a permanent, loving home. ChildNet's system of care was developed In 1999, Florida embarked on a sweeping effort to transfer child welfare services from the Department of Children & Families to local communities and community based agencies. Florida Statute 409.1671 provides Florida's communities with the opportunity to craft their own vision for caring for abused, neglected and abandoned children within their own community. Broward County already had an advocacy effort in progress in late 2000. Hundreds of concerned citizens, business and government leaders, educators, social service experts and providers, all committed to reforming the foster care system, formed the Broward Child Welfare Initiative (BCWI). The BCWI then created a business plan based on a combination of best practices and community input that provided the initial foundation for ChildNet's Standard of Care.
