Fire Protection Engineer
Engineering - Mechanical
• Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
• Identifies discrepancies in results.
• Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Must have obtained a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a 4 year accredited college or university.
Zero (0) to one (1) year of job-related experience or equivalent.
Must be capable of applying Protection Engineering principles to problems ranging from simple code consulting to unique and complex technical problems.
Familiar with NFPA codes and standards, evaluation of fire protection programs and facilities.
Acquainted with development and implementation of fire protection programs, fire protection systems support including minor design modifications or recommendations.
Able to provide Fire Protection engineering project support ranging from small focused scope to large, multimillion dollar one of a kind projects.
Knowledgeable in computer modeling of fire, egress or other fire related or influenced phenomena.
Candidate must be eligible to obtain a DOE Q clearance and access to Commercial Nuclear Facilities.
Candidate must be able to travel on business as needed.
Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen.
Master's in Fire Protection.
Familiar with preparation of written fire protection analyses
