Aerojet Rocketdyne is seeking a Senior Manager, Product Acceptance - Assembly, Test, Manufacturing and Support within the Quality & Mission Assurance function for our West Palm Beach, Florida location.
The Senior Manager for Product Acceptance – Assembly, Test, Manufacturing and Support will report directly to the Sr. Director, Quality & Mission Assurance Space Business Unit. The position will manage all aspects of product and process acceptance for assembly, test and manufacturing operations at the West Palm Beach (WPB) site. The position will provide leadership and direct oversight to salary and hourly quality team personnel for the following process areas; Assembly, test, manufacturing, quality data center and receiving inspection. The position works seamlessly with the site leaders in Operations, Supplier Management, Engineering and Program organizations to achieve the delivery of quality products on time and at cost. This position will assume Q&MA site lead responsibility and accountability to ensure adherence to the quality management system (QMS) and will partner and with extended Q&MA organization on project initiatives.
This facility works a 9/80 work schedule.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
40% - Coordinate, lead and provide direct oversight to the Product acceptance organization to achieve site’s annual operating plan (AOP). Interface with process senior peers and program leads on tactical and strategic initiatives to improve business performance and schedule and cost execution.
20% - Develop, align and execute QA resource and staffing plan to site plan, manage departmental operating budget and interface with program management on product acceptance issues. Oversee, coach and mentor management staff that lead QA owned process elements and floor support staff.
20% - Proactively address Quality Metrics to enable early detection of adverse trends and expeditiously resolve issues at the earliest possible point in the product life cycle. Champion root cause and corrective action. Support site level and program CAB’s and driving for systemic solutions. Co-chair site Corrective Action Board (CAB)
20% - Implement proven tools (such as Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, Lean Manufacturing techniques, etc.) to reduce cycle time, improve yield, and reduce QA associated costs. Assess and define required skills and development needs for the Quality Assurance function. Support Aerojet Rocketdyne Business Operating System (ARBOS), the enterprise’s business operating system, with strong emphasis on inspection optimization and continuous improvement.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and fourteen (14) years of direct experience in an assembly, test and manufacturing or production support environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous management and with progressive leadership experience required.
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
