Purpose of Position:

The Brand Manager, Del Monte® shapes the Del Monte® brand image for consumers and customers across North America. This role is responsible for leveraging insights to devise effective brand activation plans in line with Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A., Inc. business objectives. Once brand plans are devised, this role is responsible for effectively sharing brand activation plans across the Marketing team, providing direction around brand objectives and overseeing the development of integrated brand activation plans.


  • In collaboration with Director Marketing, drive the development of the Del Monte® brand strategy, including development of new product lines
  • Lead the development of the annual Del Monte® brand activation plan and ensure the activation plan is executed on time and in budget
  • Analyze brand positioning and consumer insights, driving learnings back into activation plans and strategy development
  • Lead the development of new Del Monte® branded product go-to-market strategies
  • Engage with technical experts within the Marketing team to share brand strategies and ensure activities are aligned behind agreed brand activation plans
  • Engage Sales teams around brand activation plans, ensuring Sales is well informed of tactical activity and capable of articulating core messages to customers. Act as first point of contact for the Sales team for the Del Monte® brand
  • Measure and report on performance of all Del Monte® marketing campaigns, assessing ROI and KPIs recommending opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities, seeking out tactical opportunities for the Del Monte® brand
  • Monitor Del Monte® brand marketing budget
  • Manage external agencies/contractors to ensure work is completed to agreed standards on time and in budget
  • Act as a mentor to more junior Marketing team members and play an active role in succession planning for the Del Monte® brand manager role

Minimum Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience as brand manager or associate brand manager, including relevant experience in CPG, fresh produce and/or perishable food/beverage. B2B and B2C experience preferred
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective brand and marketing strategies within a matrixed marketing function
  • Experience identifying target audiences and devising effective campaigns
  • Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix, including sound understanding of latest trends and marketing best practices
  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to demonstrate data-driven thinking and an affinity for numbers
  • Outstanding communication skills, with ability to inspire others around concepts and ideas
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
Preferred but not Essential:
  • Multi-lingual: English, Spanish and French
  • Master’s Degree in Marketing or a related field
