Ford Autonomous Vehicles LLC aspires to launch driverless transportation solutions that free people and businesses to achieve their fullest potential, earning trust one trip at a time. In conjunction with our partner, Argo AI, technical testing has begun in two of our eventual launch markets: Miami and Washington DC. At Ford, we have spent the past century earning the trust of our customers and we recognize trust is very important to people when it comes to self-driving cars since they are a new idea. We also know that each city is different, and that is why we are working closely with community members to ensure we can build out our self-driving business plan in a way that is safe and that provides the right solutions for Miami’s mobility challenges.

We are seeking an Operations Specialist to join our new Miami team. In this role, you will lead our efforts around ensuring we are operating a profitable and localized series of autonomous services in the market. We are looking for someone comfortable doing something that’s never been done before. We are looking for someone to drive the implementation and execution of our self-driving services in the Miami market, serving to establish the key structures for successful fleet monitoring, fleet positioning, special event protocols, P&L management and more.  We are counting on this role to ensure our services are profitable, put into place with nuance, and in consideration of local needs and context. The role requires comfort with a fast pace, a “get it done” attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Establish and measure profitable and localized business operations
    • Determine and recommend operating decisions given local-level understanding of needs to ensure the profitability, localization and ultimate success of the Miami market
    • Manage a portfolio of various services in the spheres of moving people and moving goods
    • Implement and launch new businesses in-market
    • Execute tactical, daily operations
    • Liaise with local representatives from our partners to ensure successful working level implementation
    • Document policy, process, and procedures in support of our go-to-market capability development
    • Summarize best practices and learnings to be shared across markets and to leadership
    • Work closely with central Markets, Operations, Fleet Management and Customer Care teams at Ford AV LLC’s headquarters in Corktown
  • Be a good teammate
    • Exhibit a strong work ethic, a spirit of humility and lead by example
    • Demonstrate initiative and self-governance as a remote member of the broader team
    • Operate with a spirit of collaboration, voice relevant concerns, and communicate effectively with the team
    • Work cross-functionally across the market and collaborate with the team at HQ, as well as with agency resources
    • Become the local extension of the brand
Basic Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related fields
  • 2+ years of experience in operations, marketing, sales, business development or market expansion
  • 2+ years of experience in leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Graduate degree in Operations Management or MBA
  • 5+ years in a related operations role
  • Experience working in start-up or technology environment
  • A valid driving license is required
  • A foundational knowledge of mobility issues, the challenges facing today’s Cities, as well as an understanding of politics, public policy and government processes
  • Candidate should be as fascinated as we are by the potential of autonomous vehicles to free people and businesses to achieve their highest potential
  • Candidate must be able to contribute to a positive, fun and supportive workplace!
  • Superior presentation skills, both in person and written correspondence
  • A forward-looking vision, able to anticipate and plan for emerging technologies in the AV sector
  • Candidate should be disciplined, self-driven and determined to provide high quality outputs
  • Ability to think and act independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proficient in the ability to plan, organize & drive results in an unstructured environment
  • Excellent project leadership skills to drive topics with multiple stakeholders/interest
  • Comfortable escalating issues while maintaining positive relationships with team members and other organizations
  • Strong business acumen and strong data driven problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to influence peers, internal customers and executives to gain acceptance of program solutions
