SQL Database Administrator

The Database Administrator is responsible but not limited to the support, development and maintenance of the company Business Intelligence (BI)/Data Warehouse environments. The Database Administrator will assist in training, communication, and documentation of such applications in a centralized corporate IT environment
Essential Job Functions:
•Create a business data model outlining the data storage within the Operational Data and Reporting stores.
•Solve warehouse data and reporting problems with excellent troubleshooting skill and techniques.
•Coordinate request for new development with existing data warehouse architecture.
•Build and maintain metadata models sourced from the ODS and OLAP.
•Design and develop data views and summaries as needed.
•Monitor and tune DSS models based on client usage.
•Ensure all Data Loads run as scheduled and provide adequate documentation for other on call team members.
•Repair data and load process when not loaded correctly.
•Create and monitor exception reports/audit process to ensure data integrity.
•Administer front-end query tools, queries, and related data warehouse tools.
•Develop and document procedures required to support and maintain Datawarehouse/BI environments.
•Work with technical and non-technical teams to implement, maintain and/or enhance the MicroStrategy application, data models, and other integrated system products as required.
•Maintain MicroStrategy security by creating and maintaining user accounts along with supplying associated documentation required for security audits.
•Communicate regularly with supervisor to ensure projects and objectives are prioritized and completed on time.
•Work with IT team to thoroughly test patches and upgrades in order to provide easy and trouble free system implementations.
•Ensure compliance with Company IT Development Standards and overall Policy and Procedures.
•University degree in Computer Science or Business Administration required; OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
•0-2 years of successful data warehouse administration experience.
•0-2 years proven experience in architecting, designing, and developing data warehouse solutions
•0-2 years proven experience working with MicroStrategy OLAP and reporting tools.
•Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Strong mentoring skills for teamwork and interdepartmental communications.
•Proven ability to complete multiple tasks with minimal assistance from others.
•Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
•Willingness to travel as deemed necessary by IT Management.
•Experience writing SQL, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers and scripts.
•Experience utilizing UNIX scripts and CRON.
•Demonstrated knowledge of techniques and principles in object oriented programming languages, such as SQL and PL/SQL.
•Proven knowledge developing in Oracle (latest release and one prior release).
•Demonstrated ability to work with sensitive/confidential information and to handle such information as required by Federal and State regulations/policies.
•Experience programming in various development tools including, but not limited to HTML, PERL, SQL.
