Position Specifics:
*This position is located in Dania Beach, FL. Relocation assistance is available.
The selected candidate must have a secret level security clearance.
The selected candidate will be assigned to perform maintenance and repair work on Submarine Fiber Optic Cable (SFOC), Submarine Line Termination Equipment (SLTE), and all associated systems in several locations.
The selected candidate must have a strong working knowledge/experience with some or all of the following:
* Submarine Fiber Optic Cable (SFOC) Power Feed Equipment (PFE)
* Submarine Line Termination Equipment (SLTE)
* Fiber Optics Testing and Troubleshooting
* Optical Network Provisioning
* Fiber Optic Test Equipment (JDSU / VIAVI T-Berd, EXFO, OSA, MSAM, Visual Fault Locator, Optical Power Meters, Light Sources & Attenuators, OTDR, C-OTDR)
* Hands on experience with U.S. Navy's Maintenance Material Management (3-M) system
* Experience with or knowledge of underwater cable fault isolation practices and procedures
* Ability to operate, administrate and test LANs, WANs, ATM switching networks, Windows and LINUX Operating Systems
* Telecommunications systems
* Backup Power Generators
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
* Current protection equipment and high voltage power supplies
* Experience troubleshooting electrical and electronic circuits using a multimeter.
The elected candidate will be assigned to perform maintenance and repair work on Submarine Fiber Optic Cable (SFOC), Submarine Line Termination Equipment (SLTE), and all associated systems in several locations.


Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.

Basic Qualifications
5 years relevant experience with Bachelors; 3 years relevant experience with Masters. An additional 4 years of specific job experience with a HS diploma may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this job. This experience is in addition to the relevant years of experience listed with the job's education requirements. Example: If this job required a Bachelor's degree + 5 years relevant experience the equivalency would equal HS diploma + 9 years job related experience.
