Job Description

City Furniture is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to join the cutting edge IT Department.  The Senior IT Project Manager’s primary purpose is to improve and implement PMO practices for the other project managers within the IT organizations (Portfolio Management).  This person will be the Lead on processes, methods and tools to analyze and collectively execute current or proposed projects. This position will drive the execution and delivery of cross-functional technical projects, focused on meeting project commitments, including communications with sponsors, stakeholders etc. This role will ensure their Scrum teams progress, obstacles and successes are widely communicated throughout the life of each sprint.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Directly managing multiple enterprise projects from initiation to successful completion.
  • Creates and manages project plans in accordance with project life cycle best practices.
  • Manages vendors and third-party resources to Statement of Word deliverables and responsibilities.
  • Facilitates all aspects of Scrum framework, including Sprint planning sessions, backlog grooming sessions, daily scrums, sprint backlog, velocity charts and burn down charts.
  • Establish PMO measures, metrics, thresholds, and targets to drive performance in alignment with business strategies
  • Create and maintains a system for documenting all critical I&T systems, processes and procedures.
  • Continuously studies to maintain industry related certifications (i.e.: PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, PSM)

Job Requirements

Education - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.


Work Experience - 7+ years of IT Project Management experience. 5+ years of experience of leading Project Managers, Business Analysts and Systems Developers, internal and external - onsite and offshore. 3+ years of experience managing Agile projects (Scrum Master experience required). 2+ year of IT Program/Portfolio Management experience is highly desirable. Must have demonstrable experience leading at least two Scrum teams simultaneously.


Technical Knowledge and Skills

* Agile and SCRUM knowledge and experience required.

* Experience using MS Project, MS Office, and MS Visio, JIRA, Confluence, and PPM tools.

* Experience coordinating teamwork flow in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

* Experience collaborating with other project stakeholders to resolve issues and to mitigate project impacts.

* Strong organization/project planning, time management, and change management skills across multiple functional groups and departments, and strong delegation skills involving prioritizing and reprioritizing projects and managing projects of various size and complexity.

* Strong problem-solving experience involving leading teams in identifying, researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues; prior success extracting/translating findings into alternatives/solutions; and identifying risks/impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate management decision-making
