Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma required. 1 year of experience as a Buyer.

Duties:

1. Obtains goods and materials from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.
2. Reviews incoming requisitions for proper authorization, correct account category, accuracy and proper description for products prior to the procurement process.
3. Processes all requests for supplies and equipment in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures. 
4. Reviews received quotations. Selects or recommends suppliers and schedules deliveries to meet requisitions on a timely basis.
5. Coordinates preparation of orders and follows up to expedite delivery and shipment.
6.  Processes requests for contracts, supplies, equipment and services in accordance with established departmental and Mount Sinai/Miami Heart Medical Centers policy and procedures.  Negotiates supplies, service contracts and capital equipment purchases as assigned by Management.
 7.  Reacts promptly to the needs of the departments by processing electronic requests within twenty-four (24) hours, and  requisitions with forty eight (48) hours.
