BMC Remedy Manager

This is a highly valued working-manager position supporting enterprise applications working with a fun team on interesting and advanced technology that’s a blend between process and technology; working on change enablement, supporting business transformation activity. This role will interface with technical and functional resources and should possess the ability to speak intelligently with business users and translate into technical requirements. There are frequently multiple projects being worked at any one time and will be expected to be kept on track, working with cross-functional teams and executive leaders.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
•Lead the development, support, and enhancement efforts of Syniverse Enterprise Applications, including system maintenance and upgrades
•Lead the support and developments efforts of third-party partners and vendors
•Provide solutions for complex IT and process issues that cannot be resolved by project team, ITS, or internal customers
•Provide information system roadmaps for optimizing the current systems
•Learn and understand the business processes, systems, and teams to better understand needs and identify opportunities
•Collaborate with peers across the business to understand requirements, architecture, design, and implementation
•Coordinate with end-users to determine satisfaction on application requirements
•Identify, recommend, and apply best practices to customize workflow and applications
•Serve as the internal customer’s trusted advisor by providing strategic guidance and direction, assisting with prioritization, identifying cross-functional team impacts, and facilitating discussions to remove barriers to success
•Collaborate with SVP, GVP, VP, Directors, Architects, Manager, Project Managers, etc. in setting and aligning strategies to tactical delivery of technology in support of business objectives
•BS/BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent
•Minimum of 8 years’ related work experience
•Prior IT Management experience
•Prior Project Management Experience
•Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and report on status
•Experience working with other Business analysts and Technical Enterprise Application developers to meet tight deadlines
•Good understanding of SQL
•Must be a Team Player and possess excellent communication skills.
•Able to understand and code according to the development standards established at this corporation
Role Specific Overview & Requirements
REMEDY BMC Manager:
In this role you will provide end-to-end development and production support for Remedy platforms, workflows and customizations to support automation of manual and resource intensive business processes. Candidates should have strong customer focus. You will work closely with process owners and internal customers to identify requirements then design and develop solutions based on those requirements and lead team to success.
- In-depth knowledge and proven working experience in following BMC products:
- BMC Remedy Incident, includes Work Orders (Required)
- BMC Remedy Change
- BMC Remedy Problem
- BMC Atrium CMDB
- BMC Action Request System
- Service Level Management
- BMC Service Request Management (Required) & Digital Workplace (Desired)
- Strong understanding of service management and ITIL processes
- Understanding of customization of forms, fields, overlays, and workflow
- Understanding of server groups, failover and operation raking at an architecture level
- Must have hands-on experience in Remedy Installation and configuration in a server group environment
- Must be able to troubleshoot application logs and provide solutions
- Experience providing BMC support in a customer focused organization
- Deploying application changes or upgrades, usually on a weekend, is required.
- Java, XML, SOAP/SWDL, REST experience is a plus
- Experience and a good working knowledge of Unix/Linux is a plus.
