Job Description

SUMMARY: Responsible for the sales growth and promotion of products to distributors within a multi-state assigned territory. Previous experience in sales with tiles or setting materials manufacturer/distributor required; experience in traveling and managing a multi-state territory is preferred. Activities include merchandising placement, technical support, product knowledge and sales support to the customers and their sales force.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Travel throughout the territory up to 75% of the time reporting closely to Vice President

• Establish a business plan with yearly and monthly objectives and strategies to achieve a given budget

• Establish and maintain a distribution network for Lotus selecting distributors, importers or dealers that will grow over time. Identify National Accounts based within the assigned territory

• Target, call on, and develop relationships and partnerships with tile distributors, traveling with and educating their sales representatives

• Work closely with distributors to generate commercial specification of Lotus products

• Introduce and successfully initiate company programs and new product introductions

• Assess and report about competitors, their product lines, prices, and strategies keeping informed of their activity

• Work as a team with corporate colleagues and other area managers, sharing experience and knowledge

• Travel and carry various amounts of porcelain tile sample to appropriately present Lotus product lines

• Facilitate the resolution of claims, following company policies

• Keep up to date with industry trends, technology, and resources

• Participate in shows and other trade events nationally and internationally, as needed

• Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful experience in tile sales, account management, and new business development At least two years of sales experience in the tile industry. Previous experience in tile sales with a manufactureror distributor required; experience in traveling and managing a multi-state territory is preferred.

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Computer literacy including Microsoft office

• Ability to work independently to achieve company goals

• Ability to travel throughout the specified territory

• Ability to develop, plan, and execute a yearly business plan according to a set objective

• Knowledge of floor coverings

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline preferred
