We’re looking for aggressive, digitally savvy journalists in one of America’s best news markets. We are a Pulitzer-winning newsroom that values watchdog journalism, splendid writing, diversity and creativity. We’re looking for seasoned journalists with a record of enterprise, a flair for words, an ear for a tale, a hunger for public records and the spirit to keep pushing when someone says “no.” A little attitude won’t hurt you; complacency will.
We are currently seeking an investigative reporter to join our projects team. We are committed to in-depth, high-impact investigative work that makes a difference. Applicants should have a track record of generating highly relevant project ideas and delivering bulletproof, seamless reads. They should be adept at conceiving and developing strong multimedia and interactive components. Candidates should be self-starters and strong idea-generators who can consistently deliver thorough reporting and stellar writing. The applicants should be excellent team players who can work independently as well as collaborate on team projects. CAR techniques, second-language skills and digital expertise are pluses.
Applicants should submit proposals to Metro Editor Randy Roguski, email@example.com. Proposals should include a cover letter, resume, examples of past investigative work, and at least three project ideas with a summary of why the story is important, what it would take to get it, and potential obstacles and results.
