Job Description

Ultimate Software is seeking a Database Developer that has extensive experience with T-SQL. This individual will be responsible for Creating, maintaining and debugging complex SQL code in the form of stored procedures, triggers and other database objects. This position will require the individual to work on-site at our Weston, FL location.

Primary/Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating, maintaining and debugging complex SQL code.
  • Programming in SQL Server's T-SQL.
  • enhance, and debug sets of very large stored procedures.
  • Prepare design specifications and functional documentations for assigned database projects.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity in databases.
  • Identify any issues related to database performance and provide corrective measures.
  • Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.
  • Database design and architecture to support application development projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6 years heavy programming in SQL Server's T-SQL
  • Well organized programmer able to enhance, logically organize, and debug sets of very large stored procedures.
  • Advanced level T-SQL knowledge. Comfortable with CTE's, Filtered Indexes, UDFs, PIVOT, Aggregate Functions, Materialized Views, Query Plan analysis, etc.
  • Working understanding Triggers, table constraints, Normalization, and Lock Escalation.
  • High comfort level in gathering diagnostic information using SQL Server Profiler
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures related to database management
  • General familiarity with Kanban or Scrum a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent programming experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent T-SQL debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • 6 years heavy programming in SQL Server's T-SQL.
